It's still a fair while until the new Bond movie comes out, but you can make the time go a little bit faster by grabbing Blood Stone and jumping into one of 007's video game adventures. The mechanics in the game and the plot are both pretty good, but sadly it's a little bit on the bland side compared to what we're used to seeing from MI6's top fictional agent. Amazon and Play are parting with PS3 copies of the game for £9.99, which'll make you a saving of almost £3 on the next best offer coming in from ShopTo. Thanks to gunark @ HUKD.
The game's Bond . . . James Bond! Sorry, I couldn't resist!! The script, driving sequences, and combat mechanics behind Blood Stone aren't bad at all, but sadly it lacks the finesse that we've come to expect from MI6's top fictional agent, which is a real shame because this had the potential to be a great 007 title. Amazon are currently parting with PS3 copies of the game for £11.24, which'll make you a saving of over £1.50 on the next best offers out there.
Now that this one's under £10 it's probably worth a punt and you probably won't be disappointed with it if you pick it up at My Memory's price, which'll save you nearly £3 on the next best offer coming in from ShopTo. Nipping in and out of cover whilst working out how to deal with a bunch of guards can be pretty good fun, as can the high speed driving sequences, and the story's not bad either. Unfortunately though, it lacks the refinement that we'd expect from 007.
Blood Stone sadly lacks the polish and sophistication that we associate with MI6's top agent, however the story's not bad and you can fluidly move in and out of cover whilst you're trying to work out the best way to deal with your foes. Most Bond movies have great driving sequences and luckily you're treated to a pretty good experience whenever you're behind the wheel. You can grab a copy of the game from Sendit for £9.88, which'll make you a saving of almost £3 on the next best offer coming in from ShopTo.
