Reading the title I thought how depressing it is that the fact a game has free online multiplayer is worthy of a headline nowadays. It has become worthy of a bullet point though to distinguish it from the growing trend.

It turns out they can't use their authentication servers until mid-Oct so it is free right now after all.

Bout bleedin time. And I don't get your gripe Korma, FIFA and PES have always had free multiplayer, in fact live season is completely free this year on FIFA as is Ultimate Team. I actually managed to build a very competitive side on UT in a couple of weeks without purchasing any packs at all so even that argument has gone out the window though I would agree that in the past UT was a cash drain to be anywhere near competitive.

I was talking about Online passes that have made multiplayer a paid part of the game that you get as a bonus for buying the game new.

I see, yeah I'm not keen on their undermining of the pre-owned market.
