Those of you who have yet to fire up your 360 for 'just one more case' on L.A. Noire will be asked to download the latest dashboard update that was released in the early hours of the morning. The five minute download adds 'Paypal' to the list of available payment options, as well as preparing your console for the shift to Microsoft's new disc format, which the company say will provide increased storage capacity for developers.
Microsoft have revealed concerns that a 'very small number' of systems will not be compatible with the new and improved disc format, and will prevent the user from playing any of their existing retail releases, but have promised to replace any outdated consoles with the brand new slimline version at no extra cost. The problem is apparently detectable by the company via Xbox Live, so if you're one of the unlucky few, you should have no problem claiming your shiny new console.
UPDATE: A couple of minor changes to the dashboard have also been made; menu fonts now appear smoother, and behind-the-scenes support for Kinect Avatar has also been installed.
We're yet to hear from anyone that has had a problem following this morning's update, but if you've been adversely affected by the changes, we'd be interested to hear from you in the comments section below. [Eurogamer]
