I don't know about you, but I'm fed up with 3D! Apparently, Sony aren't though, and they're set to talk about it's use on the PS3 at Develop, which is taking place down in Brighton, at the Odeon cinema, later this summer; 19-21st July to be precise.
So, Mike Hocking, SCE Worldwide Studios 3D boss will be leading a talk bearing the title "The Stereoscopic 3D Experience: The First Year of 3D on Playstation 3", and he had this to say about it:
I'm really looking forward to giving this keynote at Develop. I'll be doing a 3D post-mortem from Killzone 3, and also showing how we implemented 3D as an advanced post effect in SOCOM4.
I'll look at how we used a 2D camera for 3D augmented reality in EyePet Move. Actually being able to show these on a big screen with surround sound will make all the difference for the audience.
Lets just hope they don't start urging developers to make every game in 3D, we've got quite enough 3D on are plates thanks to this latest craze in the extra dimension catching Hollywood firmly in its evil grasp! [vg247]
