3DS: 400,000 Initial Japanese Shipment Sold Out

Japan went 3DS crazy over the weekend, with Nikkei confirming an initial shipment of 400,000 units. Further reports suggest that these have pretty much all gone already.

Nintendo are planning to ship 4 million units globally by the end of the fiscal year come March 31st, with 1.5 million of those units earmarked for Japan.

As for us Europeans, we'll be getting our grubby paws on the console on March 25th, with the portable console hitting US shores on March 27th. [via Andriasang]

If you really can't wait that long, it's worth remembering that they are region locked should you wish to import one.

It is good there is not too long a wait but I'm planning on waiting anyway, will be interesting to see how people feel about it in say 6 months time.
