3DS Firmware Update & Web Browser Delayed Into June

As well as waiting for a strong first-party games lineup, the 3DS is still waiting on a major firmware update that will add the eShop virtual marketplace, web browser, DSiWare transfer functionality and other upgrades. The update was originally slated for "late May," but according to a new note on Nintendo of America's website, it's been held back by a couple of weeks.

The firmware update is now dated for the "evening of June 6th" in North America, meaning that us Europeans can expect it the next day if it's set for a simultaneous global rollout. The Japanese launch is also set for June 7th, which interestingly happens to coincide with Nintendo's E3 presser. I daresay that more details will be forthcoming during the convention. [via Joystiq]

I love how Nintendo are giving us so many reasons to own a 3DS right now.

The only game I like for it at the moment is Rayman 3D, which is over 10 years old!

You know we're ahead of America right? So the evening there is the next morning for us, also on the 7th.

I should have made that clearer, Timezone Sam to the rescue!
