Thanks to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, we can confirm two new features for Resident Evil 6 today: the heavily-rumoured Ada Wong campaign and the ability to play as monsters in another player's game (!).
After several weeks of rumours, Famitsu [via Siliconera] reports that Resident Evil 6 will indeed contain a standalone campaign starring mysterious femme fatale Ada Wong. Don't worry, it's not DLC. Instead, this singleplayer-only storyline will unlock after you complete Leon, Chris and Jake's campaigns, promising to fill in a few extra story details. Wong brings a crossbow and time-delayed bombs to the party, providing yet another unique playstyle.
Next up is a newly-confirmed multiplayer feature that allows players to control zombies and B.O.W.s in the core campaign. Again reported by Famitsu [via Andriasang], Agent Hunt lets you join another player's campaign as an enemy creature, with multiple agressors able to team up and take down the two heroes using team voice chat. You'll be warned if a hostile player enters your session, and this mode will only unlock as a toggle-able New Game Plus option. [thanks, stevenjameshyde]
This setup slightly reminds us of the hopelessly-flawed Mindhack. While the idea of dynamically facing off against other players in the campaign will certainly provide a few off-script surprises, potentially losing progress at the hands of griefers could get rather annoying to say the least. Hopefully it will be closer to Left 4 Dead in terms of gameplay experience.
Resident Evil 6 is shaping up nicely - why not check out our hands-on impressions for more details?
