Alice: Madness Returns | £6.50 | Greenman Gaming | PC

I was rather disappointed by Alice: Madness Returns, and made no bones about it in my 5/10 review. It's a textbook case of style over substance, with truly beautiful visuals masking miserably poor level design and dated, cliched gameplay. However, GamersGate have matched Origin's shortlived sub-£10 deal... who were then undercut by Greenman Gaming by another quid. This makes for excellent raw value coupled with the seriously meaty campaign.

I disagree with the 5 out of 10 review. I would probably give the whole experience about 8 out of 10. Though if you look at this as just a game (and not a work of art too) then maybe 6/10 is about right. It's a platformer and the gameplay is pretty average... but as an experience, it is great. If you have not yet played it in 3D, then you need to check it out. The game litterally comes alive. It is cute and quirky and downright dark at times.

For anyone just getting in to 3D PC gaming, then get this. It is a great, very trippy experience.
