Alice: Madness Returns | £4.49 | Impulse Driven | PC

In terms of value, this deal does the business. Impulse Driven's sub-£5 price is one of the cheapest we've ever seen, and a decent saving for a meaty, visually arresting game. On the other hand, though, I was rather disappointed by Alice: Madness Returns and made no bones about it in my 5/10 review. It's a textbook case of style over substance, with truly beautiful visuals masking miserably poor level design and dated, cliched gameplay.

I was not duly impressed with Alice: Madness Returns, and said so in my 5/10 review. It's a classic case of style over substance, with truly beautiful visuals masking miserably poor level design and dated, cliched gameplay. However, it's also phenomenally good value thanks to a meaty campaign  and Origin's nifty download price.

It's a classic case of style over substance, with truly beautiful visuals masking miserably poor level design and dated, cliched gameplay. However, it's also phenomenally good value and contains the original game (that may not be quite as great as you remember) - and this price is certainly appropriate for its quantity.

Alice: Madness Returns | £14.95 | Zavvi | PS3 / Xbox 360

The price for this one is really starting to fall now. Zavvi's latest deal for American McGee’s return to Wonderland is currently the cheapest around, and as such PS3 and Xbox 360 owners can save themselves almost £3 in comparison to the next best offers from ShopTo.

That said, is the price of admission value for money? As Jon stated in his review, it seems more like style over substance with this one, playing to the nostalgia of its predecessor a little too much. It’s by no means a terrible game, but there are so many more enjoyable experiences out there for your money. Still, if you want to give it a go this is currently the best deal. Alice: Madness Returns | £18.95 | The Game Collection | PS3

While I’m sure not everyone will be rushing to get a copy, this deal from The Game Collection for American McGee’s return to Wonderland is currently the cheapest by a fair margin. As such, PS3 owners can save themselves a fiver in comparison to the next best offers from The Hut and Zavvi.

That said, is the at-last sub-£20 price of admission value for money? As Jon stated in his review, it seems more like style over substance with this one, playing to the nostalgia of its predecessor a little too much. It’s by no means a terrible game, but there are so many more enjoyable experiences out there for your money. Still, if you want to give it a go this is currently the best deal. For any literary geeks out there the chance to walk around Lewis Carroll's Wonderland is almost irresistible, so it's a shame this game's only average at best. The artwork and visuals are pretty good, as is the combat, but that really doesn't make up for the boring experience this one provides. Amazon and Play are parting with PC copies of the game for £19.99, which'll make you a saving of £3 on the next best offer coming in from Gameseek.

This one had so much potential, after all the chance to explore Wonderland is nearly irresistible, especially when it's got a slightly darker edge, which was what made the game's trailer so intriguing. Unfortunately, it quickly becomes boring, despite its vibrant look and enjoyable combat. You can get hold of a PS3 or Xbox 360 copy of the game from ShopTo for £25.85, which is almost £11 cheaper than the next best offer coming in from Cool Shop UK. Thanks to biddilybah @ HUKD.

Alice Madness Returns

I was very excited about this one, the chance to romp around in Lewis Carroll's Wonderland was almost irresistible, plus the trailer had a dark edge that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, whilst the game looks great and the combat's fairly good fun, it becomes a bit of a bore after a while. You can grab a PC copy of the game from one of the three merchants listed above for £24.99, which'll save you almost £2 on the next best offer coming in from GamersGate.
