I wasn't that impressed with the new Aliens Vs Predator game. Sure, the multiplayer was pretty good fun, but the single player campaigns weren't that great, and I got a bit annoyed that the Predator dropped his cloak at every given opportunity. However, I'd love to see a sequel because it's a series that has bucket loads of potential and could be something truly jaw dropping if it was done well. So, it's a bit of a shame to here that Sega aren't planning on making one at the moment.
When talking to Eurogamer, Sega West CEO Mike Hayes, had this to say about things:
[AVP] was so successful that naturally you would think you want to do a sequel. But we already had Aliens: Colonial Marines in the pipeline at Gearbox.
The Aliens universe is so interesting that there are different things that we can do before we go back to an idea of sequelisation.
There's a lot more we can do first before we would consider doing a sequel on AVP.
Lets just hope that a sequel will make it's way to us at some point in the distant future, because I for one would love to get back into a frantic battle or two with a couple of crazy xenomorphs, a sneaky Predator, and a squad of macho Colonial Marines.
