Alpha Protocol is an espionage RPG. It's written right there on the box. So if you go in expecting to shoot loads of guys Rambo-style, you're going to fail. The limp gunplay belies an excellent stealth and close combat system, with a story that can be approached in many different ways. Characters can be interacted with, slept with or even ignored altogether, producing a storyline that evolves dynamically with each playthrough. It's admittedly a little rough around the edges, with a few glitches and bugs hanging out from time to time, but Alpha Protocol might just surprise you at this price.
