Hints At Black Ops II GOTY Edition

Retailers have become a major source of leaks over these last couple of years, and Amazon have provided us with two interesting nuggets today. A GOTY Edition for Call Of Duty: Black Ops II may provide a neat way of grabbing the game and its first DLC pack, while the oft-rumoured Mirror's Edge 2 has been listed as an Xbox One title.

PlayStation Lifestyle spotted a hastily-pulled store page for "Call Of Duty: Black Ops II GOTY" on Amazon US, with legit-looking box art proudly proclaiming "$15 Bonus Content." Namely, the Revolution DLC pack, which released at the start of the year. Uprising doesn't seem to be included, however.

Now for the big one. Amazon Italy briefly loosed a listing for Mirror's Edge 2, which is one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming at the moment. The rumoured DICE-developed sequel was tagged as an Xbox One title, which ties in nicely with current thinking that EA delayed the free-running parkour platformer in order to turn it into a next-generation title. I daresay that many mysteries will be solved at E3. There's only a fortnight to go...

Mirror's edge with Kinect.
This can't end well. I'd better book my hospital bed now.

Mirror's Edge 2 would be very nice. I really enjoyed the original. I only hope they don't attempt to target more of the shooting side, and focus back on the running.

Sod getting this on Xbox Three, get this on Oculus Rift!

Not sure how the Blops2 "GOTY" is being called GOTY, by the way.

If it was bundled with a season pass then the title could be justified - but if it's just got one of the map packs (whether on the disk, as a code for the map pack, or as a code for points with which to buy the map pack) then it's far from a "GOTY" edition. It's the game, plus one (of probably 3 or 4) map packs.

Not sure who it's targeting, either, come to mention it. If you've been thinking "I want the latest Call of Duty, but I really want the first map pack for it too (but not the second one) - I hope they bring that package out around 7 months after the game came out and around 4 months after the map pack came out" then you're laughing. For the other 99.999999986%* of mankind it's pretty pointless.

*Assumes 1 person from around seven point one billion on the planet have been thinking the above. I suspect that 1 may be a generous estimate.

@Late: The "GOTY" description comes from the Amazon product title, and is noticeably absent on the box art. It might be a placeholder or perhaps new edition set to come out closer to the launch of CoD: Ghosts.
