American McGee Teases Potential Jack And The Beanstalk Game

It would appear that American McGee's Spicy Horse studio have been busy at work on a new fairytale game, with a sliver of concept art making its way onto Facebook yesterday from another children's story: Jack and the Beanstalk.

"What's that you say?" read the caption from McGee. "You'd like to see more crazy fairy tale adaptations from Spicy Horse? Hmmm... what's this? Oh, I dunno... perhaps concept art from an as-yet-unannounced game we have in development. Intriguing!"

Of course, American McGee's last large venture the fairytale realm saw him revisit Lewis Carroll's most famous heroine. You can read our Alice: Madness Returns review here, which was released by Spicy Horse last year.

Will this new title be all about Jack, or will others feature? Who knows. Frankly, it's enough to pique the curiosity and rouse our interest on this sleepy Tuesday morning. So much so that our top ten later today will almost certainly be a collection of fairytales we'd also love to see get the Spicy Horse treatment.

In the meantime, hit us up with your own thoughts in the box below.

Feels lazy.
Okay, Alice was an original idea (or felt like one) when it first came out, but then there was the planned American McGee's Oz, then a sequel to Alice, now American McGee's Jack and the Beanstalk... it's probably easier to just keep "twisting" fairy tales than creating new IPs. Scrapland anyone?
