April Fools

April Fools' Day came and went with less gusto than usual, as many sites and gamers decided to play it straight... but we still had our fair share of gags, fake announcements and assorted tomfoolery. Tomfoolery, I say! So, to brighten up this muggy Wednesday afternoon, here's a selection of our favourites from around the internet!

Titanfall Prime!

Erm, we actually want this.

Razer Eidolon: VR Drone

Frankly, Razer might just be insane enough to make it.

ArmA Karts

An obvious fake, but never say that Bohemia aren't game for a laugh!

Nintendo VirtualU

Well played, Nintendo Life!

Megane Drive

Not to be outdone, SEGA Japan got in on the VR pranking themselves!

Blizzard: Outcasts!

Blizzard are famed for their elaborate April Fools gags, so they ran with no less than four this year. By far our favourite was Outcasts: a DLC driven brawler designed for massive micro-transactions at every turn!

Seriously, even the peripheral has a credit card slot!

World Of Warplanes: UFO Sightings

Like Blizzard, Wargaming.net takes April Fools' so seriously it sometimes stops being funny. This year's prank was an enormous selection of UFOs for all factions, which we all had a good laugh at. Tee hee. Back to work...

... except they actually were in the game. Or are they? Perhaps they're just swamp gas or weather balloons.

And the loser is... EA

Oh dear. What started as a tongue-in-cheek tweet about the lack of Frostbite-powered games on Wii U escalated like wildfire, resulting in EA's Peter Moore having to step in to apologise. We reckon it wasn't too bad, but it's definitely not a classy move considering that EA once promised to support the Wii U before plunging in the knife.

Ouch, poor EA, they forgot Aprils Fools is about good humour and playing pranks, the frostbite tweets were just plain mean, it can't even be considered a joke, but more failed sarcasm.

I like the Respawn one the best, not only would Transformers fit in perfectly into Titanfall, they is also the irony that the license for Transformer games is currently held by Activision, the company that Respawn share such a happy relationship with. (note to EA, that was Sarcasm.)

Edit: If anyone wondering about the MegaNe Drive, Glasses in Japanese is Megane.
