Our April Fools gag was more subtle than usual this year, but as always, it's time to look back at the best pranks that the day had to offer.
Oh yes, this was a particularly good one. Guild Wars 2 announced a brand new class for their anticipated MMORPG, who's essentially a blend between tank and infiltrator in one handy package. Meet the Commando.
Razer, the precision peripheral provider, chose April 1st to unleash their new (and entirely fictional) exoskeleton on the world. The Razer Talon interfaces with the wearer's nervous system to "hack" their own bodies for massively increased 1337ness. Not only that, but your unit will also fry unauthorised users with several thousand volts of electricity.
Saints Row: The Third Reveal
This was a punch in the balls. No, really.
Envelotech... A New Way Of Playing Games!
Telltale Games are always innovating... and in between licensed film spinoffs, they've managed to create an incredible new way of literally putting players in their games. By using a terrifying device of unknown origin.
Halo Dance Central
Kinect bore the brunt of a number of gags this year, and arguably the most hilarious was 1UP's exclusive hands-on with Halo Dance Central. To be honest, we'd probably play this - thanks to Marty O'Donnell's epic soundtrack and Steve Vai's guitarwork.
Starcraft Motion Overdrive!
Blizzard, as usual, threw out April Fools gags with merry abandon throughout the day. We saw Crabby the dungeon helper and a transmutation app for Diablo III, but by far the most hilarious was their announcement that Starcraft II would be triumphantly returning to consoles.
Alright, folks - we've done our bit. It's time for you to shout out to your favourite April Fools pranks! Drop us a line in the comments.
