ArenaNet Announce Guild Wars 2 Is Now Back On Sale

Releases New Trailer To Celebrate The News

Some of you may have noticed in yesterday's Games Chart that Guild Wars 2 slipped a fair few places after claiming the #1 slot the previous week. There was a good reason for this; ArenaNet halted distribution the end of August (2 days after the official release) so they could allow their servers to cope with the huge number of players joining the game. However, as of yesterday digital copies are once again on sale direct from ArenaNet, and stock is being distributed to retailers around the globe. To celebrate this, ArenaNet have released a new live-action trailer called “Our Time Is Now” which is best described as “artistic.” (You’ll know what I mean when you watch it.) See the video for yourself after the jump.

The trailer, directed by James McTeigue (V For Vendetta and The Matrix Trilogy), apparently “captures the revolutionary spirit of Guild Wars 2 and puts forth a call-to-arms for gamers everywhere.” Here at Dealspwn, we’re just glad that not only can gamers buy a copy of the game again, but that the servers for Guild Wars 2 have been upgraded to cope with the influx of new players. Overpopulation had led to some systems such as the Auction house being turned off, but ArenaNet has since resolved the issues and it is now working as intended.

Should you want to buy a copy, you can either get it directly from ArenaNet, or you can find the cheapest retailer by looking on Gamebase (although you may need to give retailers a day or two while the new stock actually arrives.)

Still not sure whether to join in? You can always take a gander at our extensive coverage, which is still in progress, by clicking the link here.
