ArenaNet have already dedicated a week-long coverage of material to the Human, Norn, Charr, and Sylvari races, but this week they're giving some love to the smallest of the playable races in their upcoming MMORPG Guild Wars 2; the Asura.
In the first of what will be many posts this week, Senior Concept Artist Matthew Barrett discusses in a blog entry about the evolution of the design for the Asura, from scrawny Gollum-eqsue creatures during their original conception, to the arrogant yet highly intellectual magic users they are now. At the end of the article you can check out a speed drawing of the picture above, including commentary from Barrett. However, being the kind people we are, you can find the video after the jump. Be sure to check out the blog post at the link here, and be on the lookout for more coverage on the Asura on the official website over the course of this week.
If you haven’t seen our two part preview for Guild Wars 2 from this year’s Gamescom, you can check them out at the links here and here. Still hungry for more? Check out our video interview with Lead Designer Eric Flannum at the link here!
