Arkham City is set to dominate the Dealspwn offices come October, when I expect we'll all be putting on gruff voices, narrating everyday life and sharing side-kick duties on a rotating basis. As with all big releases noways, a limited or collector's edition is always on the cards; but we've yet to see one for Arkham City? Until now, that is. Outed on US retailer Best Buy, the Collector's Edition of Arkham City looks set to delight fans of the Dark Knight!
I won't lie; this doesn't exactly re-invent the Collector's Edition as we know it. Packing a so-called 'premium statue' for an unnamed character - most likely Bats himself, or maybe Catwoman - an art-book and early access to future Arkham City content - which will probably be run-off from other retailer exclusives - the Collector's Edition is also sporting a copy of upcoming anime, Gotham Knight.
It's a decent package, no doubt. But come on, publishers; you can do better. As much as I hate to say it, Activision always set the precedent with their fantastic Call of Duty editions. MW2 had a pair of night-vision goggles! Night-vision goggles! They're pretty much endorsing covert activities with incentives like that!
No guarantee this edition will make its way to our fair shores just yet, but considering the current trend of things I wouldn't be surprised if we at least got an alternate edition. [Best Buy]
