Arkham City Gets Robin In The UK

A while back, Rocksteady's rough and tumble take on Batman's perennial sidekick, Robin, was announced as a pre-order exclusive for certain retailers in the US. Across the pond, us Brits waited patiently for an announcement. But as the days turned into weeks, the weeks into months, we started to wonder whether we'd ever be delivering brutal pugilistic justice as the Boy Wonder. Well, fret no longer; as Robin will be making his way to the UK as part of a pre-order scheme for both GAME and Gamestation.

Batman Arkham City: Robin Edition will add the Boy Wonder's unique challenge missions to the game proper, with no need to download any DLC it would seem. Like The Joker in Arkham Asylum, Robin can't be used in the main game, instead featuring in a bunch of unique challenge missions tailored to his particular style. Rocksteady modeled Robin on UFC cage-fighters, so expect a raw, unrelenting fight-style and plenty of thwack sounds courtesy of that staff he's wielding.

It's unclear whether Robin can participate in the Challenge Maps already included on the disc, but we do know he has his own unique pair to complete; Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train Escape. Included in this bonus edition is a Red Robin costume to unlock, although again details are unclear on how to achieve this.

Batman Arkham City: Robin Edition is exclusive to GAME and Gamestation outlets.

Exlcusive?! At least, I hope you only mean the physical retail copy.

Wait...

Are GAME and Gamestation up to their usual antics of preventing games from being available for pre-order on Steam in the UK?

Skyrim is FINALLY available to pre-order on Steam now - too late for the Team Fortress 2 bonus items though...

I think I will ask the trading standards about this, because it seems extremely anti-competitive. As a consumer I should have a choice!

I only buy physical games from Amazon.co.uk
