Army Of Two: The Devil's Cartel Gamescom Trailer Refuses To Fist Bump

Visceral Games are now handling the Army Of Two franchise, and plans to take the series in a grittier direction. This new trailer shows off lots of "tactical cooperative combat," including sections where one player provides overwatch from a helicopter.

As Army Of Two fans (despite its many faults), we're actually a little worried about The Devil's Cartel. First of all, Mexico's drug war is a difficult setting for any game - fraught with complex and heartbreaking real world issues that our medium has never managed to broach in a meaningful way - and Army of Two was all about fun. Where are the fist bumps? Where's the colour? Where's Salem? Hopefully our concerns will be laid to rest over the coming months.

Could it possible be any worse than the original? Truly awful gameplay. I wasn't remotely tempted to try the second.

Possibly a "Marmite" series of games, I guess.
Would be silly to alienate those who liked the first two, whilst those who don't like the series are unlikely to buy it.

I can honestly say hand in heart that AoT was THE most fun I've ever had in a co-op game, still to this day me and my homie say "props brah". Awful solo game though but co-op is what you make it

I hope they keep the bromance in the game cause that's what made it special
