1.5 Times Bigger Than Brotherhood
Poor old Ubisoft. All they wanted to do was surprise us with Assassin's Creed 3, but even a promise to reveal all this coming Monday hasn't stopped the entire internet from leaking, picturing and now, finally, making with the first gameplay and story details! We've got it all after the break.
According to intel posted on GAF (which we believe is from the latest edition of Game Informer), our new character is a half American, half Native American who was raised by the Mohawks until his village was burned down. Connor - or Ratohnhake in his native Mohawk tongue - has sworn to seek justice for the Mohawk, and will be apparently be driven by higher and more lofty motives than Ezio's desire for revenge. Of course, he'll encounter The Assassins during his quest...
Assassin's Creed 3 will be set in Boston and New York between 753 and 1783. The map area is apparently 1.5 times the size of AC Brotherhood, and the upgraded Anvil Engine will ostensibly be able to support up to "a couple thousand" on-screen characters in order to portray some of the seminal events of the Revolution.
Pleasingly, Connor's gripe will be with the Templars rather than the British, and apparently their insidious influence will affect both armies. Connor will need to root them out wherever he finds them.
Ubisoft are set to bare all on Monday, and we'll be sure to bring you the latest when we hear it.
