Vita exclusive Assassin's Creed III: Liberation has received the 2013 Writer’s Guild of America’s 2013 Outstanding Achievement in Videogame Writing award, which we'll call the WGA from now on to speed things up.
It's a real coup for the portable powerhouse, but it's worth noting that the competition wasn't exactly fearsome. Fellow WGA nominees included 007: Legends (which totally butchered its source material with some of the worst writing I have ever seen, ever, ever), Halo 4, Epic Mickey 2, Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Assassin's Creed III. Also, games need to have at least one credited writer as a member of the guild to be eligible, meaning that any number of deserving alternatives were dismissed out of hand.
Still, this makes for a fun little jumping off point. What game impressed you the most with its dialogue, storyline and storytelling over the last twelve months?
