We're big fans of Assassin's Creed here at Dealspwn, having loved the first despite its flaws, enjoyed the much-improved sequel and simply adored the perfectly distilled Brotherhood iteration. So, as you might expect, we're pretty psyched for whatever is next for Desmond and his homicidal ancestors. And earlier today, over at Ubisoft's AC Facebook page, a link to a site - that has since been pulled - appears to have outed the next iteration in the series.
Titled Assassins Creed Revelations, the link to the now defunct site proclaimed "The day you have been waiting for has arrived! Click the link below to help reveal an exclusive look at the upcoming Assassin's Creed game!". Before the site was pulled however, an intrepid forum goer managed to pry a logo from the site, which you can glimpse above.
Ubisoft has been pretty open in admitting a new Assassin's Creed is in the works and due for release this year. And with a numerical denominator still lacking from the title, and with it being so soon after Brotherhood, I don't think this is quite Assassin's Creed 3 just yet. Brotherhood was a critical and commercial darling, and with Ubisoft already having the tech and universe in place, the cost must have been lower than most blockbusters, so maybe they've earmarked sizable expansions as a viable way to advance the series.
And with the 'Revelations' subtitle, I expect it'll be a spin-off sort of thing delving into an unexplained portion of the mythos. Might be finally discover the story of the enigmatic Subject 16? [Eurogamer]
