Hello Dealspwners!

We've just uploaded a few changes to the site. They are mainly visual changes, nothing major in terms of functionality. You still have all the same sections that you know and love.

Even so, we sometimes run into bugs and glitches, so if you spot something performing  in a strange manner, please drop us a line. It would be very helpful if you also tell us what browser you are using. And if you are able to attach a screenshot of any glitch, that's also really useful.

Thanks!

(P.S. If you are experiencing any problems, sometimes a "ctrl + F5" can sort things out. :) )

For 24 hours only, this is a discount code to get you an extra 10% discount on the daily Playstation deals from The Hut online store.

  • Discount Code: PLAY10
  • Discount: Extra 10% off Playstation deals
  • Expires: 8am, 4th March 2010

I was naive enough to think that working for a deals website would mean that I spent less. Sure I save money with every purchase, but it's sales like these that are goading my accountant into fits! Some things are just too good to pass up.

Hot on the heals of yesterday's Nintendo price drop, The Hut is letting you slash prices on all of its PS3 daily deals for 24 hours. To be honest it's worth doing a quick price check before you buy anyway, but here are a few of the stand-out deals of which you might want to take advantage today. All titles are for the PS3 unless otherwise stated, with the price shown taking the discount code into account, and with nearest competitor listed in brackets afterwards:

As stated before, this code won't make a difference to a number of games really, as you'll probably still be able to find them cheaper elsewhere, but the above titles are an excellent place to start and we'll be bringing you more throughout the day.

Enjoy!

  • Discount Code: SONIC10
  • Discount: 10% off Nintendo games
  • Expires: 8am, 3rd March 2010

As I always say, make sure you price compare your games before you purchase, as even with the discount code, they could still be cheaper elsewhere. I had a quick scan down the titles and the following seem to be decent bargains (prices shown are once you apply the discount code):

So the savings aren't humungous, but if any of those games were on your wishlist, now could be a good time to buy.

I'm a huge fan of the Half-Life series. In fact, I'd probably say it's one of my favourite games of all time. Ever.

So when I stumbled on this youtube series of a dude playing the original half life, with running commentary of the contents of Freeman's mind, it was an instant hit with me.

I'll link you to the first video… he has made 25 episodes so far, which sadly isn't the whole game, but I hope there are more on the way.

Enjoy!

'What's extreme gaming?' I hear you ask. Well how about you strap an HD projector to your chest, a PS3 to your back, and abseil down a wall whilst using the Earth's surface as a giant screen for your Need For Speed  fix. We reckon the next step is building a giant motion sensor bar and using people attached to cranes as remotes. Maybe.

Looks like fun!

Asda Voucher Code: 10% Off Select Nintendo Games (DS & Wii)

Asda

For the half term break, Asda are offering a 10% discount voucher, which applies to certain Nintendo titles, for the Wii or the DS.

Click here to see the Nintendo titles @ Asda

  • Voucher code: NIN10
  • Discount: 10% off select Nintendo titles
  • Expiry: Unknown

Most of the games are titles specifically targeted at the kids, though there are a few slightly more adult ones thrown in for good measure.

I've gone through the full list and done a price comparison on each Nintendo game shown. Not every single game is a great deal, but many are the cheapest price I can see online - so I have listed these below. The price shown here is after you apply the 10% discount voucher code.

Asda are promoting this deal as a half term offer, but it doesn't state a specific expiry date on the voucher code. So if you're interested in any of the titles, I recommend buying as soon as you can.

Many thanks to Cuzzy on HUKD!

Blockbuster Game Rentals: 6 For £4.99!

BLockbuster

Currently, Blockbuster are running a "Golden Ticket" promotion, in which they are letting you rent 6 games or movies for only £4.99. You have to print out the voucher and take it with you to the store.

When you redeem your Golden Ticket, they give you 6 rental vouchers. You can then use these to choose your video game rentals. What's good about this is that you don't have to take all 6 titles in one go.

I thought this was a great idea for those of you who would like to try out the full version of some video games without buying them first. Then you can easily decide if you should spend your hard-earned cash on the title.

The Blockbuster voucher will expire at the end of February 2010.
