Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition Will Get New Storylines & Characters As Premium DLC

"We would never DLC existing content"

Beamdog has announced that Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will be supported with all-new DLC packs, many of which will be premium.

“We’ll be doing free feature improvements and existing content improvements as we go," Beamdog's Trent Oster tweeted, "but we are also planning some paid DLC.”

This immediately set a few minds racing, but Oster quickly elaborated on the venture: only all-new content such as optional story arcs and characters will be sold as premium DLC.

“We would never DLC existing content. Any DLC content we plan to sell will be all new. DLC=Downloadable Content, not furry earrings +3. The big guys have overcooked the term with badness. New BG storylines, New characters."

This content will be delivered through the Beamdog client after Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition releases this summer on PC, Mac and Tablets.

What about "Tales of the Sword Coast"?

I'm pretty sure that Sword Coast is included. :)

"Running on an upgraded and improved version of the Infinity Engine, Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition™ will include the entire Baldur’s Gate adventure, the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack, and never before seen content including a new adventure and new party member." - Source
