The Caped Crusader hasn't really been done justice by the gaming world in the past, the Batman Begins tie-in game was quite frankly awful and made you feel more like the hockey pad wearing hoodlums at the start of The Dark Knight rather than the World's Greatest Detective. Luckily though, Rocksteady have rectified this by giving us an epic adventure in the form of Arkham Asylum.
You can pick up a copy of the game on the Xbox for £12.93 from The Hut, which is almost £4 cheaper than the next best offer of £16.85 coming in from ShopTo.
The story is masterfully told, thanks largely to the wonderful cast, and includes a whole host of familiar faces from The Dark Knight's extensive mythology. Having transported the Joker back to the gothic vaults of Arkham Asylum, Batman watches on as the crafty clown breaks free only to transform the institution into one of his chaotic schemes, and it's at this point that you take control of Gotham's brooding vigilante to put an end to the madness.
The game allows you to become Batman, so you can expect to do a bit of crime scene investigation, coupled with brutally taking down your foes with superior hand to hand techniques, as well as sticking to the shadows and creating panic among the assorted goons that you're pitted against.
In addition to the main game, there's a whole range of hidden items that The Riddler has scattered around the island, which are great fun and at times rather infuriating to collect but it's definitely worth scouring the environments for them.
This is a brilliant game that everyone should play at least once, although be warned it's very hard to put down once you've started.
