The much publicized Open Beta for DICE’s upcoming FPS Battlefield 3 officially begins today. Those that pre-ordered the game or purchased the Medal of Honor Limited Edition have already had access for the last two days, but by the end of the day anyone who wishes to join in, be it on PS3, Xbox 360, or PC, will be able to download the client and jump into the action.
As of this morning, all Xbox 360 and PS3 owners can now download the beta client in their respective online marketplaces to join in, however PC owners will have to wait until later on today to be able to download the client via Origin. As we previously reported, the beta will feature one map, Operation Metro, which will have players shooting at each other in the romantic setting of Paris. After all, nothing else quite shows a player how much you love them when you shoot them or steal their dog tags in a bullet-strewn French city.
For more information on the beta, be sure to check out the official website here.
The Dealspwn crew will be partaking in the beta over the various platforms, and we’ll be sure to bring you our impression on the multiplayer shenanigans in the near future. If you are getting involved, be sure to drop us a line and tell us what you think of DICE’s latest efforts!
