"Dude, That's A F*cking Fifty!"

EA has released the second part of their Fault Line trailer series for Battlefield 3, entitled Good Effect On Target. In this episode, the squad ascend to the rooftops to take care of a pesky .50 calibre sniper... and do so in the most gratuitously explosive way possible. Impressions and observations after the jump.

This trailer is a first for two reasons. Primarily, it (briefly) shows off the massive environmental destruction that players will be able to wreak on structures, cover and ill-advised snipers; with a suitably impressive level of detail. Granted, this is a scripted event that probably uses a specifically-designed building... but with DICE at the helm we can probably expect most in-game structures to react in this way. The leaked GDC footage (which is still online) shows off some of this carnage in action, but this is our first official look.

Secondly, and more subtly, this is also our first look at prone movement and how it will provide players with cover. The ANT animation toolkit seems to be chugging along nicely, providing some seriously impressive squad animations that are rendered in real time, in-engine. We've already covered the nitty gritty of Frostbite 2.0, so why not take a look?

Who's psyched for Battlefield 3? Yeah, thought so. We'll keep you updated by the wire, and look out for the third episode of Fault Line on March 3oth. If you fancy sounding off about DICE's anticipated shooter, have your say in the comments!

Battlefield 3 is set to release this autumn on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Game still looks amazing.. but thats a lame ass sniper shooting at them.. after seeing 4 soldiers go between the gap the first time you would kind of expect 1 of them to get shot the second gap they cross.. yet no one gets shot..

Still excited to to get it later this year! Just a stupid set piece on display!
