When Battlestar Galactica came back to our screens it sunk its claws into us and didn't let go. Then the MMO based on the show came out and quickly built up a loyal batch of registered users. Now an update and some new features have been added to the game, which should mix things up a little bit.
If somebody's been winding you up and you want to deal with them in a secluded section of space, well now you can, because private PvP matches have been added, whether you want to jump into a ranked battle or a straightforward duel.
Ranked matches pair people up provided they've got similar statistics, so you won't have to worry about facing an opponent who's got an advantage over you, because they'll more than likely be piloting a ship that's roughly the same size as yours, or they'll be in the same class as you. Ranked matches also allow players to work out who's the best, or "Top Gun", pilot on the various servers for the game, and the Top 100 on the Leaderboards'll get a special icon above their ship and pilot names.
Now, you might want a bit more of a challenge when it comes to the opponent your facing, in which case you'll have to get into a one on one duel with another player of any class, faction, or rating, but you won't get any rewards for taking part.
The Veil Sector has also received two more star systems, Nilfhel and Muspell, which'll give your squadrons some additional high level NPCs to vanquish. Finally, you'll be able see what's going on with the different star systems because blockade warnings and PvP notifications'll be given to you.
All these new additions may well help to rope in a few more users, although the game recently hit the three million mark, so it's not exactly doing badly!
