Battlestar Galactica Online has amassed over two million players in the space of three months, netting 22,000 new players daily, a press release from Bigpoint has announced. The free-to-play, browser-based MMO has been a massive hit, with widespread ad campaigns and solid gaming mechanics giving Bigpoint it's biggest launch to date.
'With BSGO continuing to achieve new benchmarks, and receive such a strong positive response from the fans, we're excited to take its development to the next level,' said Bigpoint's Managing Director Rob Ollett. 'At just three-months in we're at a point now where we can shift the majority of our attention to adding new content and addressing the community's wish list.'
The new content will include the addition of new tier-three 'line' ships to the game's existing galactic battlefield for both human and Cylon players. Both highly powerful, multi-attack ships, the human race with be receiving the Gungnir, whilst Cylons can get their paws on the Nidhogg.
