Fancy taking on the 'evil' denizens of Heaven armed with pistols strapped to your ankles and a magic barnet that can transform into a savage, demon-chomping dragon's head as well as hiding your shame? Enter Bayonetta, one of the most ludicrous games I've played in years, and undeniably one of the finest action games - in terms of combat - to have hit gaming in a long, long time.
Zavvi have been yo-yoing the game's price across the £20 line for some time now, but today finds them knocking a few further pennies off of their deal price, offering both versions of Bayonetta for £17.75. This'll net you a saving of around £6 as the closest competitor is far and away over at Gameplay (£23.99).

Bayonetta should appeal to two kinds of people: Firstly anyone who likes the idea of an exhibitionist British librarian who moonlights as a dominatrix assassin of fantastical creatures, and, secondly, action fans. Bayonetta takes all of the best bits of the Devil May Cry series and makes them better, providing a combat experience that is both brilliantly intuitive, easily accessible, and rewards improvisation.
Look past the PVC, the high-heeled boots and the protagonist's penchant for provocative posing, and Bayonetta reveals itself as one of the most enjoyable games of the past year by not taking itself too seriously and serving up enormous bundles of fun with gleeful relish.
