Bayonetta 2 & The Wonderful 101 Revealed As Wii U Exclusive

Platinum Brings The Games

Platinum Games are set to bring it to the Wii U in a seriously big way. Not only has the E3 surprise powerhouse Project P-100 been revealed as The Wonderful 101, but Bayonetta 2 has come out of nowhere as a Wii U exclusive.

As someone who rather likes Platinum Games, I'm more than a little excited about this. To say the least. I'd be more excited if we knew how much the Wii U will cost, mind, but here's what we know so far along with brand new trailers.

The Wonderful 101, from Atsushi Inaba and Hideki Kamiya (the double team behind Okami and Viewtiful Joe) was looking absolutely sensational at E3 2012. Players will assemble a team of eclictic washed-up superheroes (such as Vending Machine Man and Toilet Bowl Man) and battle using them as a single unit, allowing them to fuse into different weapons and gadgets on the fly. Gameplay-wise, it plays like an insane mash-up between Bayonetta and Pikmin.

Speaking of Bayonetta, today's also contained a genuine megaton surprise: Bayonetta 2. The sequel to one of this generation's benchmark brawlers will be published by Nintendo as a Wii U exclusive, providing Nintendo's console with some serious hardcore credentials. Kamiya has frequently suggested that he'd have liked to make Bayonetta 2, and if rumours that SEGA cancelled the project are true, it's likely that Nintendo swooped in for the kill.

The bad news? Neither of these two titles feature on the launch window list - so it's likely we won't see them until Spring 2013 at the earliest.

Wow, Bayonetta 2 exclusive? Great news for people planning on getting the Wii U, worst news all day as far as I'm concerned though.
