Never Mind The Stretch Goals
Revolution Software promised to develop a sequel to classic adventure Beneath A Steel Sky if their Broken Sword V Kickstarter topped $1 million, but it eventually closed out at just over $800,000. Thankfully, Revolution co-founder Tony Warriner has announced that they're going to do it anyway.
"We're delighted by the recent level of interest in a sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky and are currently discussing design ideas for this project which we plan to go into development following the release of Broken Sword - The Serpent's Curse," Warriner told Develop. “We're deeply touched that our Steel Sky fans are as enthusiastic today as they were when the original game released in 1994."
It's likely that Watchmen artist Charles Gibbons will return, since he's apparently planning to reunite with Charles Cecil and the team.
Beneath a Steel Sky 2 is to be developed for iOS, Android, PC, Linux and OSX, and a console release is in the planning stages.
