id Software's upcoming shooter RAGE is looking very, very good. Boasting tech courtesy of visual mastermind John Carmack, it's set to be a graphical feast for the eyes come October this year when it is released. However, being a cross-platform titles encompassing PCs, Playstation 3s and Xbox 360s, RAGE has been the subject of much debate over how each version holds up. But according to publisher Bethesda, you shouldn't be concerned with the PS3 version, which they're "very pleased" with.
"We also had RAGE running on PS3 in the press room [at QuakeCon] for folks to do their previews," marketing chief Pete Hines told Destructoid. RAGE on PS3 had been widely ignored in preview events up until now, prompting many to suggest it wasn't as up to scratch as its PC and 360 counterparts. That's not the case, according to Hines.
"We are very pleased with the PS3 version of RAGE. One of the cornerstones of the new idTech5 technology is that all assets are identical across all platforms. The experience that players have will be the same on all three platforms," he added. Obviously, the PC version is what you want if you're looking for the best-looking RAGE experience possible. However, it looks like the console versions, too, will more than suffice. [Destructoid]
