Bethesda QA Speedruns Skyrim In Two Hours

Don't Panic, It's Actually Good News

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is set to offer a near-infinite amount of content due to its sprawling game world and respawning dragons, but Bethesda's traditional speed run competition has set the bar for those who plan to speed through it. A representative from Bethesda's QA department, Sam Bernstein, took on a Jeff Browne from the dev team in a no-holds barred sprint to the finish, clocking the mains story in two hours and sixteen minutes. Interestingly, both players took different routes through the game. [Bethesda]

Believe it or not, this is testament to a very, very long storyline. To compare, Fallout 3's speedrun competition was wrapped up in just 75 minutes.

Agreed. A two-hour speedrun is long. Just ask anyone of us on the SDA boards.

Well, I remember seeing Morrowind get completed in just over seven minutes, so this is a lot longer than that...

That's a nice run, but just like the official record on SDA (4m19s), it's glitch-based.

The two-hours QA speed-run probably wouldn't be glitch-based, it's a legitimate playthrough.
