Bethesda, Big dirty stinking tease

Bethesda Teases... Something [UPDATE]

Bethesda has taken to Vine to tease us with... something. More specifically, something to do with barbed wire and Bach. Check it out - and let the wild theorising commence - below.

As you can see in the incredibly short clip, there's some imagery of barbed wire and Johann Sebastian Bach's legendary Air On A G String , which isn't much to go on. However, here are the odds-on favourites for your convenience:

  • Project Zwei: The codename for Shinji Mikami's latest project. Considering that he's the brainchild behind Resident Evil and Vanquish, to name but two, this is definitely due a massive reveal. The odd imagery would certainly fit.
  • Fallout 4: Rumoured to be set in Boston, we don't know how barbed wire and Bach fit into this. But we want them to. So badly. UPDATE: Bethesda's Pete Hines has confirmed that the reveal definitely isn't Fallout 4. "Guess again."
  • A rumoured new Wolfenstein game: Rumoured to be known as "Project Tungsten," a Wolfenstein-related project was mentioned in composer Julian Beesdon's resume. Reports suggest that it's in development at Zenimax Sweden, many of whom are ex-Starbreeze developers.

Prey 2 and Doom 4 are also feasible, but incredibly unlikely. For the former, the imagery simply doesn't work, and the latter has been totally restarted from scratch after the intial build turned out to be immensely disappointing. It's also far too soon to announce a potential Dishonored sequel, though we'd admittedly rather like one.

Bethesda have been making a lot of noise recently, so keep your eyes peeled for a major unveiling over the coming days and weeks.

The Bach and barbed wire makes me think WW2 so I'd go with a new Wolfenstein.

These ridiculous "teasers" kind of bug me though... somewhere, someone is working on... something!

We need more press coverage, but aren't ready to reveal any of the games we're currently developing.
I know. Let's just put a random video out there, that reveals nothing but gets people talking.

Shame on you, Bethesda.
Cheap hype.
And you were doing so well until then. (Great games of course, and interesting press releases/interviews etc. recently...)

I'll forgive them this time. 2 days until a "proper" trailer isn't too bad.

They probably rushed to get that out having read my above comments, of course.
