If the blistering heat that we've been treated to recently's got you in the mood for some of the sports that require a bit of sunshine for optimal enjoyment, then you might want to check out Big Beach Sports.
You can grab a copy from Game for £4.99, which is almost £2 cheaper than the next best deal of £6.85 on offer at Simply Games.
There are a couple of different games to choose from including volleyball, disc golf, and cricket. Players can work their way through the single player in quick play or tournament modes, and if you've got a couple of friends coming round you can have four players taking part simultaneously in some games or taking turns in others.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to use your Mii avatars, and the character creator uses the Nintendo DS, so you're a bit stuck if you don't already own one. However if you do, you'll be able to draw your virtual alter-ego on the DS and then transfer it onto the Wii.
It's a real shame the gameplay is pretty awful, because this could have been a welcome alternative to Wii Sports, which is far superior in comparison. In the majority of situations you'll be pushing buttons to perform actions and the motion controls are incredibly underused, which seems like a massive step backwards.
It's possible that your disappointment'll be eased by the low price tag, but there are plenty of other games out there with similar prices at the moment that'll keep you entertained for far longer.
