The summer drought is upon us, and as we cast our gaze back lovingly at the likes of Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption and an iPhone update for Angry Birds, we gamers know it'll be an age before another blockbuster slips through our letterbox. In the meantime, why not whack some balls (settle down) with The Bigs 2 Baseball, now available from Play for less than a fiver!
Averaging a 76 on MetaCritic, The Bigs 2 Baseball brought the long-running series to the next-generation, replete with an overflowing feature list and updated graphics to appease the masses who'd purchased 50" Plasmas only to play Pro Evo 6 and wonder what was wrong. Judging by the reception, it's pretty obvious if you're a fan of baseball The Bigs 2 is a bit of a no-brainer.
Blending aspects of the sport itself with arcade sensibilities, The Bigs 2 offers a range of modes, from seasonal offerings where you can guide a team to glory and silverware, or a Become a Legend mode, where you pick a rookie player and orchestrate their rise to fame. The wide array of modes is a nice alternate to the usual ho-hum selection present in most sports games, and as expected The Bigs 2 supports both co-op and multiplayer, so you can bring your friends along for the ride.
