Bioshock Infinite Delayed To February 2013

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

This was the reaction to the news that 2K have pushed back the release date for Bioshock Infinite into next year. Irrational Games' captivating FPS has had a new release date of February 26th, 2013 set, with the extra time needed to iron out a few creases and endeavour to make the game as good as it possibly can be.

After we got over our initial despair, we realised that we are, in fact, all for that. The extra months will be hard, but with great focus and determination I believe that we can make it.

BioShock Infinite Reveals The Motorised Patriot Enemy

Irrational Games has taken the lid off a new heavy-hitting enemy that will make Booker DeWitt's life a living hell. The menacing Motorised Patriot is a "fearkess" mechanical facsimile of George Washington who attacks with a powerful chaingun - which can be used by the player if you manage to take one down. More details below.

Ken Levine "Disappointed" By Bioshock Infinite's Breasts

You Should All Be Ashamed Of Yourselves

We haven't had much Bioshock Infinite news to chew on for a while now. Still set for a 2012 launch, Irrational is no doubt fine-tuning the title for a mass preview siege. However, creative chief, Ken Levine, has a bone to pick with us. Apparently we're all a little too interested in heroine Elizabeth's cleavage, when we should, in fact, be empathizing with her tragic plight.

Sony To Produce BioShock Infinite Move Peripheral?

The news that BioShock Infinite will support PlayStation Move came as a rather embarrassing about-face for series designer Ken Levine (who previously lambasted the peripheral's potential), but we reckon that it will work fairly well with all of those tantalising skyhooks and zip lines. It seems that Sony may be looking to cash in on the lucrative potential sales that this goliath brand will draw in by releasing a licensed Move peripheral, at least according to a hastily pulled announcement on the UK Playstation site.

“A special PS Move peripheral is being produced that will draw you even deeper into this stunning vision of a parallel future."

Pushsquare's report has yet to be verified, but we can see this happening. If it looks anything like the Skyhook, we'll probably want one.

New Bioshock Infinite Dev Diary Swoops In

Exploring Colombia And Its Characters

We're almost in to November now, but when that particularly clogged and over-hyped month is over, we'll soon turn our attention to another momentous event. No, I'm not talking about roast chicken, wrapped presents and drunken uncles. I mean Bioshock Infinite, Irrational's much-anticipated return. We're all big, big fans of the game here at Dealspwn having laid eyes on it for the best part of a year and a half now, and with the latest developer diary released, detailing the world of Colombia and in particular the hero/heroine duo of Booker DeWitt and the eminently gifted Elizabeth, we couldn't be much more excited!

Right, Bioshock fans, when you've quite stopped salivating over the extended Bioshock Infinite playthrough for the fourteenth time this morning, you might be pleased to hear a Bioshock book is being printed, pressed and shipped off to your local book store ahead of next Tuesday's July 19th release date. Penned by John Shirley - whose also helmed literature adaptions of Constantine, Predators and Batman, to name a few - and published by Titan Books, it tells the tale of Rapture and its early days long before Jack set foot inside.

We've known about Booker DeWitt, the former Pinkerton agent tasked with extricating Columbia's most prized asset, Elizabeth, from the clutches of its warring populace, for a while now. But what with Infinite's first-person perspective and Irrational's distaste for cinematics, we've not had a clue what he actually looks like. Until now. Gracing the cover of the latest issue of EGM, Irrational have finally revealed the look of their latest protagonist.

Sony's E3 press conference contained an interesting surprise appearance from Irrational Games' Ken Levine, the overmind behind Bioshock Infinite, who seemed to recant his earlier skepticism about the Playstation Move controller "cheating" hardcore gamers. Bioshock Infinite will apparently support the peripheral despite his earlier concerns, but in a recent interview, Levine states that motion controls need to be "firewalled" off from traditional games in order to "protect" them. It's an interesting caveat to his new-found enthusiasm, and we have the full details below.

Top Ten Tuesdays | Best Of E3 2011!

We've put our weekly top ten lists on hold thanks to the staggering, throbbing amount of hands-on previews we've been pumping out... so it's only fair that we kick things off with a look at the Expo that was. Here are the ten most impressive games and reveals that caught our attention and make us glad to be gamers, along with links to our hands-on coverage where appropriate.

Let's do this thing!

Daikitana Award For Epic Failure: Mr. Caffeine

Top Ten Tuesdays | Best Of E3 2011!

How many idiots does it take to derail a fantastic press conference stuffed with juicy reveals? Just one. Ubisoft, seriously, you need developers to present your lineup, not gibbering marketing goons. Doobly doobly derpy dumb.

10: Far Cry 3

Top Ten Tuesdays | Best Of E3 2011!

Embedded deep within Ubisoft's aforementioned presser, the Far Cry 3 reveal delivered the only genuine surprise of the entire expo. And what a surprise it was. Ubisoft have taken fan criticism to heart in order to create an open world game with true personality, masses of non linear choice and bags of colour.

Did I ever tell you... the definition... of insanity? As far as we're concerned, it's not being excited about Far Cry 3.

9: Aliens: Colonial Marines

Top Ten Tuesdays | Best Of E3 2011!

It's going to be another glorious day in the Corps!

A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm - especially when Gearbox have been given free rein to create a true sequel to one of (if not the) best movies of all time. Randy Pitchford led the demo walkthrough personally, and frankly, we're as excited as he is. We're in for some chop!
