BioWare Asks: Should Mass Effect 4 Be A Prequel Or Sequel?

BioWare is canvassing opinion for their next game.

Reaching out to fans on Twitter, BioWare's writing lead Casey Hudson asked whether the next game in the Mass Effect series should look to the past or future. "Parsing through your thoughts on the next #ME game," he wrote. "Would you be more interested in a game that takes place before the trilogy, or after?"

Considering that pre-production has already begun on the Frostbite-powered title, we're fairly sure that BioWare have made their minds up already. However, let us know what you want from the next Mass Effect game... or better yet, let Casey know.

BioWare has confirmed that the next Mass Effect game will be "respectful" of existing series lore, but will provide new characters and a "huge galaxy to explore." More here.

A prequel. It'd be cool to import your Shepard from the later games where you have chosen his origin and play out that origin in Mass Effect: Origins. It'd be like Dragon Age: Origins where there are multiple origin stories that could be played through.
