The latest beat-em-up on the block has made a good first impression but nonetheless has shed the pounds with impressive speed, now being available at a very svelte £21.86 from Shop To. This is the cheapest I have seen it so far and £5 down from the next best offer of £26.85 from Simply Games.
If you are looking for the PS3 version of the game, then you are best off heading over to Cool Shop's site as they are selling it for £22.99, which is almost £2 down from the next best price.
So, in the week following the release of Super Street Fighter 4, is there any reason to buy Blazblue? Thankfully yes; while it may not be quite the standard of that classic fighter, Blazblue has enough unique characteristics to make it well worth a shot. The graphics are pretty super, with very attractive and well designed and animated characters fighting in a variety of interesting backgrounds. More importantly the gameplay is fast, furious and very fun, almost everything a Guilty Gear fan could hope for. The online play is excellent and for lone wolves there's plenty of offline gaming enjoyment to be had.
While it's a shame that there are only twelve characters and Blazblue is not the most immediately welcoming of games, if you give yourself enough time to get used to the way it plays then you will find a surprising and satisfyingly deep experience.
