Blizzard has successfully managed to fix the latest issue with Diablo III: a recent exploit that rendered Wizard players invulnerable over the weekend.
"We are currently rolling out a hotfix for a recent bug regarding invulnerable Wizards," reads the latest Battle.net update. "We will continue to carefully monitor this issue and welcome anyone with information about bugs or hacks to submit a detailed report to our Hacks Team by emailing [email protected], or by completing the Hacks Report web form. In your correspondence, please include any steps necessary to replicate the issue as well as any additional details you are able to provide."
Essentially, this simple exploit allowed players to make their Wizard heroes completely impervious to damage, thus facilitating an entire day of death-free item hunting on the hardest (and hardcore) difficulty settings.
The full knock-on effects of this exploit have yet to unfold. The auction house is flooded with legendary items, while the banhammer will be difficult to wield since the bug was properly reported and native to the game itself, not a hack. Not to mention that this comes as yet another embarrassment in an incredibly rocky two months.
