Bodycount | £14.85 | Simply Games | Xbox 360

Here we go: a nice sub-£15 price breakthrough that might tempt a few of you into Stuart Black's abandoned project. Bodycount is an odd little game with some great ideas that never quite merge into the outstanding shooter it had the potential to  be. Fantastic leaning mechanics and some fun focus on brutal combat is balanced by schizophrenic art direction, a lack of destroyable cover, small weapon selection and a massive identity crisis. I'd check out Matt's review before taking the plunge.

The price drop for this one shouldn’t be that much of a surprise, what with its less-than-steller reviews and its developers being disbanded. However, some of you might want to give it a go for less than £20, which for a  recent release isn't bad going. The offer over at GAME and Gamestation will ensure you save yourself almost a £5 on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. Of course, it’s not the best example of an FPS, and it might be best to hold on a little longer for a further price drop. Still, if you want to give it a go this deal is certainly the best around. Thanks to zombrex @ HUKD!

Zavvi has nearly matched The Hut's PS3 price for Bodycount on the Xbox 360, which is what we like to call "a bit more like it."

Bodycount | £24.85 | The Hut | PS3

When Bodycount works, it works incredibly well. Its cover shredding mechanic, riotous focus on gunplay uber alles and old-school leaning controls sometimes gel into a superbly enjoyable experience... but more often than not, it also falls flat. There aren't enough guns. There aren't enough upgrades. Most of the cover and walls can't actually be destroyed. Sadly Bodycount just doesn't feel like a finished article, but if you're in the market, The Hut are providing the cheapest price around for the PS3 version.
