We're big fans of Gearbox's wacky co-operative shooter Borderlands here at Dealspwn. Between the randomly generated weaponry, glowing loot drops, dune-buggies and fantastically named villains, it snagged a respectable 8 from Jon. We've long hoped Gearbox might announce a sequel, but for the past year or so they've been far too busy getting Duke out the door. However, according to a Eurogamer source, Borderlands 2 might be closer than you think.
According to Eurogamer, Borderlands 2 is in development at Gearbox, and is due for release next year on PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. No word on a Wii U version as of yet, but that might well change in the coming months. As for an announcement, Eurogamer claim a full-on reveal courtesy of publisher 2K Games is very close.
So, with that out the way, let's turn out attention to what we'd like to see in a Borderlands sequel. Personally, I'd like a far more engaging open-world, with a lot less barren plains crawling in mutants and a lot more to do! Tweaking the vehicles wouldn't go amiss, either, as it often felt like piloting a wayward trolley with a loose wheel. [Eurogamer]
