The Brutal Bundle: Ten games (inc. Tropico 4 and Stealth Bastard Deluxe) for £3.64

A new, almost absurdly cheap bundle of PC indie titles has popped up on our radar. The Brutal Bundle is serving up a collection of ten games -- including notable titles such as the Steam special edition of Tropico 4 and the utterly brilliant Stealth Bastard Deluxe -- for a measly £3.64.

Here's a rundown of all of the games in the bundle, and you can check out our Stealth Bastard Deluxe review here.

  • Tropico 4 Steam Special Edition
  • Stealth Bastard Deluxe
  • King’s Bounty: Legions, including the True Tactician Ultimate Pack
  • Port Royale 3: Pirates & Merchants
  • Dungeonbowl
  • Iron Sky Invasion
  • Day One: Garry’s Incident
  • Steel Storm
  • Earth 2150 Trilogy
  • Naval Warfare

The bundle offer expires just before Valentine's Day on February 13th.

Another 10 games I now own that I will probably never get round to playing!

Ditto, lol.

I fully intend to play them all. But reality I'll probably properly play 1, briefly play/try another 2, and the other 7 will be in the library unplayed forever.

I only joined Steam on 20th Dec. I think I now have between 90 and 100 games in my library. Played the two Portal games all the way through (had played both on xbox360) as well as The Stanley Parable.
Was enjoying Mirror's Edge and Papers Please until I decided to update my graphics card driver (at which point those two stopped working and I've been unable to get back to where I was :( - damn but I find PCs frustrating!).

Me too.

However having read some of the reviews on Steam, with the 'quality' of some of the games on offer, Brutal just may be a fitting title.

Still, for Tropico 4 alone it's worth it (assuming you don't have it already).

Stealth **** is good too.

Worth it just for Tropico 4, Steel Storm and Stealth **** Deluxe IMO - alongside Earth 2150 nostalgia. Naval War is also a laugh, seeing as it's actually Aqua (a decent XBLA twinstick) under another name. Mind you, you won't get the awesome avatar award on PC.

I daresay that some people will actually enjoy the opportunity to "play" the infamous Garry's Incident too - that's the awful game that became notorious for taking down negative YT reviews with scurrilous copyright claims.

EDIT: Oh great, even I'm not exempt from the profanity filter. I kinda wish we could build one into our podcasts, mind...

Late, did I miss something? Do you have a PC now?

Does Stealth FuckingBastard work?

Edit: yes it does, glad I did not drop the c-bomb.

I actually bought this lot entirely for Kings Bounty. Love those games... they are the epitome of PC gaming.

KB: Legions is a facebook/mobile game though so don't get too excited! Having said that, I love KB too and it is one of the reasons I bought this bundle. Though mostly because I assume the DLC will link via my account to the Android version of the game!

I've got one but rarely go near it (my eldest is always Skyping on it). It was second hand and was no gaming machine when I bought it back in June '08.
Should be capable of playing older games just fine, and should probably be okay with most newer indie or low-spec games, but it's struggling. Mirror's Edge crashed a couple of times so I updated the graphics driver from a 2007 version to a 2012 one thinking that'd probably help loads, but now that game and several others won't work at all. Tried rolling back but got no joy.
I've probably got loads of old stuff causing conflicts.
Toying with wiping everything and doing a fresh Windows installation. If I do I should do it before they stop supporting XP, in April. I know XP is a bit dated, but I ain't paying loads just to upgrade to a newer version, especially when XP is actually a decent version - and I don't fancy going linux.

This is why I like consoles. They may be restrictive and their games may be expensive - but everything is generic and works out of the box.

Everything is generic and works out the box if you buy a good PC. :P

However, if your eldest is Skyping on your PC they are probably also introducing loads of viruses and malware too... back when I did PC support outside of work for friends, that was always the cause of the trouble. A dodgy torrent here or a click on a dodgy link there.

Rebuilding is a good idea, takes time but your PC will be much faster once done - but backup first. XP is great, but I prefer Windows 7... but you need a better PC to run it.

I work in IT, sometimes I go in to support mode.

Sorry.

targetbsp: I was going to buy KB anyways, it's on Steam for £27 so this saves me a heap.

That's the one thing putting me off buying this bundle. Do I really want to support the Devs who behaved like that? I know that they apologized but even that was deleted shortly afterwards.

It's also worth pointing out that this game has the lowest user score on Metacritic of 0.5 such was the hate generated by this steaming pile of guano and the Devs behind it.

DivideByZero  Jan. 16, 2014 at 11:17

If you don't buy this bundle just because of one bad game by lame devs then you are cutting your nose off to spite your face. 9 other games here, some really good ones too.

I'll make that one of the 7 I never get 'round to playing, I reckon... ;)
