"No More Excuses For Inferior Gameplay"
Bungie co-creator Alex Seropian has founded a new mobile development studio, Industrial Toys, that plans to offer no-compromise portable titles for the core gaming audience. Seropian promises to "inspire rather than exploit," and deliver games that embody "the future of mobile." All while labelling the rest of the industry as "idle time-wasters."
It's an interesting move from the veteran developer, and one that could potentially result in some cracking games. Full quotes below.
After leaving Bungie, Wideload Games and most recently Disney, the influential developer behind Marathon and Halo believes that the time is right to launch a dedicated mobile studio specialising in games for gamers - no more, no less.
We believe in the future of mobile. No more excuses for inferior game play, graphics, and idle time-wasters with cute names and elementary mechanics. We believe in the audience of core gamers who are waiting, demanding respect," reads the studio's official Facebook page.
And we're prepared to over deliver with something they've never seen in the world of mobile - artistically-envisioned high-quality production, intricately advanced layers of narrative and gameplay in a free-to-play model designed to inspire rather than exploit.
You can get more details over at the Industrial Toys Facebook page, and their first game will be revealed "soon."
As an interesting side note for die-hard Bungie fans, the Industrial Toys logo is full of numerology and barely-disguised sevens.
