Well the day is finally here! In the relatively short space of time since its release in November, Call Of Duty: Black Ops has not only kept its position at the top of the charts, but according to the market research group NPD, it's now the best selling game ever in the US.
I suppose at this point I should give you some figures really! The game has now sold 13.7 million units in the US alone since 9th November 2010, which technically means that it's raking it in.
NPD analyst Anita Frazier had this to say about things:
Call Of Duty: Black Ops was the best-selling game in February, retaining the top selling spot since launch in November. It has now become the best-selling game in history, topping Wii Play.
I'm not really surprised by this news considering the game features a campaign full to the brim with action, a top notch multiplayer experience with a huge amount of customisation, and a zombie mode for a laugh and a challenge. The real questions are; how much further can Black Ops set the bar? And, what are developers going to have to come up with to beat it? [1UP]
