Call Of Duty Elite has laid out its schedule to deliver an inordinate number of small DLC drops to paying members over the next nine months, but eagle-eyed Elites have spotted what could very well be a contravention of Xbox Live's download terms. The new Modern Warfare 3 DLC maps are only playable by the Elite-enabled Gamertag that downloaded them, even though the terms state that "you can use this item on the first Xbox 360 console you downloaded it to. Access to this item will also be granted to all users on this first console." According to the forums, Activision isn't even certain whether this restriction will be retired when the first full-blown DLC pack becomes available in March.
This will likely irk gamers who are used to downloading DLC content to share with family, housemates or friends. Note, however, that you can still play the maps in split-screen so long as the Elite account leads the lobby. [via Joystiq]
