If Black Ops isn't your thing, but the idea of strapping a six-inch bayonet to the end of your Enfield and unleashing packs of ravenous, seemingly omniscient dogs on hapless goons, then World at War might be just the thing. The fifth CoD title, courtesy of step-parents Treyarch, it relocates from the drab grey landscape of WW2 Europe to the lush, blood-stained sands of the Pacific Theatre, as American platoons contend with the unorthodox methods of the Japanese forces. The online is fantastic, if a little dated by today's standards, and the campaign is fun at times. Although I don't suggest you try out Veteran unless you want to smash several controllers against your forehead as yet another grenade blows your legs off.
