We're already head over heels in love with Dragon's Dogma, Capcom's new action-adventure title, but now we can add another surefire hit to their upcoming roster. Unveiled by Japanese mag, Famitsu, Ixion Saga is an online PC-only experience, where up to two teams of eight duke it out with swords, guns and even magic, with giant beasts also on the combat agenda.
According to Andriasang, our ever-reliable Japanese translator site, Capcom filed for Ixion Saga trademarks a while back. So the game might be further along in development than you think; an alpha test, open to up to 5, 000 wannabe Ixion Saga masters, is due for July 28th, and a speculative release date of Summer 2012 has been penciled in by Capcom.
So far, Capcom appears to be targeting PCs and PCs alone with Ixion Saga, a curious change of direction for the nominally console-centric developer. That said, if it's successful enough, I can see them bringing it to the Next Xbox or Playstation in the near future. I just wouldn't hold your breath just yet, that is! [Andriasang]
